We are delighted that esteemed chef and Masterchef: The Professionals 2013 semi-finalist David Garlinge has come on board as our new Head Chef here at River Cafe. With heaps of experience in the industry under his belt, there is no doubting David’s pedigree when it comes to food!
David has lots of ideas for enhancing what we already have on offer at River Cafe on the Tyne. But fear not, as your favourite stalwart dishes will not be disappearing over night!
We are looking forward to seeing what David will bring to the Food & Wine evenings, as well as Beer & Bait nights. Exciting times to come over the next few months. Stay with us and take the journey!
Says David: “I was looking for a new challenge and River Café on the Tyne appealed to me. Not only are they a 4 times Michelin Bib Gourmand Award winning restaurant with a stunning location looking out over the mouth of the Tyne, but they are also committed to building their seasonal menu around the freshest produce available which is something I am very passionate about.
“I’m looking forward to putting my own stamp on what is obviously a very successful business. I’m intending on providing the loyal clientele, as well as new customers, with something a bit different including examples of the amazing produce that the rest of the world has to offer.”
Says Paul Scott, owner of River Café on the Tyne along with Michelle Dickie;
“We are really excited to have David on board and the team are looking forward to seeing what he has to offer. We have been on the lookout for a new chef for some time, and David totally fits the bill.
We continue to be totally focused on creating a great customer experience with excellent food at value for money prices, and are certain that David, with his impressive track record, will be able to help us deliver this with flair and panache.”
